The Beginning of G.E.M

           Talks of Gradually Empowering Minds LLC began in the summer of 2020 after a complicated ending to the 2019-2020 academic school year. Due to Covid-19, Nakeisha Gilliam introduced to Denise Lindsey the idea of a remote/tutoring center. In conversations of our struggles with other parents we quickly discovered we were not the only families in this position. Finding a way to manage work and educating children from home was difficult. We learned that these new challenges required a level of support for families that would help prevent further expansion of educational gaps.

       Like gemstones found in the depths of Earth created by time, pressure and heat it takes special tools to reveal the unique qualities and brilliance that each child possesses. As parents, we want our children to have access to every opportunity available leading to a great prosperous life.

     Our goals for the children of G.E.M Learning Center are to be confident, self-sufficient, and able to stand on their own. Acknowledging the process and recognizing its similarities we came up with an acronym for our center. Gradually Empowering Minds LLC (G.E.M Learning Center), was established January of 2021.    

        Gradually Empowering Minds LLC is a private learning center, created to support children by offering affordable resources to address challenges faced by families in promoting their child's academic success. We offer childcare services for children 3-5 years old, before/after-school programs for children in kindergarten through 6th grade, personalized tutoring for students' kindergarten through 12th grade, specialized group tutoring, and educational seminars. Our goal is to promote positive communication between families and communities in a structured environment. Students can study, complete assignments, receive support, and assistance in achieving their educational goals.
